WEAVE/EXPLANT
WEAVE/EXPLANT originates from the observation of textile structures in moments of dissolution. The project began with a single fragment of loosening fabric — a state in which woven order gives way to movement, instability and transformation.
Rather than documenting this moment, the work continues it. The textile fragment was translated into wire and developed further under under defined, process-oriented conditions. From this process emerged a series of small wire structures understood as an explant culture: isolated fragments that persist, reorganize and evolve after being separated from their original context.
The focus of the project lies on dissolution as a productive state.
Each object carries the same underlying condition, yet develops its own structure, tension and presence. Form is not designed, but allowed to emerge through manual, bodily engagement.WEAVE/EXPLANT renders dissolution as a state of ongoing formation.
