listening studies #1
The listening studies examine listening as an embodied perceptual practice. Developed through live listening to improvised jazz music, the works employ drawing as a real-time method of perceptual registration.
The practice traces how auditory atmospheres organize themselves within the body—through shifts of intensity, rhythm, and orientation. Drawing functions as a research instrument that renders these movements into form.
The resulting series articulate listening as a relational field, situated prior to linguistic articulation. They remain close to the moment where movement becomes perceptible as form.
The studies form part of a broader inquiry into how atmospheres are registered in the body and how such registrations take shape as form.
